The Proton Therapy
Proton therapy is a type of radiation treatment that targets cancer cells very precisely, which means it causes less damage to healthy tissues around the tumor. This makes it less likely to have side effects compared to regular radiation. It’s especially helpful for treating cancers that are close to important organs or in young patients, like children, who are more sensitive to radiation.
WHY HPSP?
We believe that proton therapy is the safest and most effective treatment for children battling cancer. Unfortunately, it costs more than 45,000 baht, and with the only facility offering it in Southeast Asia, families can face months of waiting. For children who desperately need this treatment, that wait can feel unbearable. That’s why we’re donating to HPSP, to help ease the financial burden on families and ensure that every child has access to the best possible care, without the added stress of worrying about the cost or waiting for months. Together, we can give these children a fighting chance and a brighter future.
The Her Royal Highness Maha Chakri Sirindhon Proton Center (HPSP) in Thailand is dedicated to providing exceptional care for children with cancer. Their compassionate, multidisciplinary team, including paediatric oncologists, surgeons, radiation therapists, and specialised nurses, creates personalised treatment plans designed to meet the unique needs of each child. HPSP offers a wide range of treatments, such as chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery. Beyond medical care, the center places great importance on psychological support and rehabilitation, helping children and their families navigate the emotional and developmental challenges of cancer treatment with care and understanding.
